Grants are usually based on financial need, do not need to be repaid, and are generally available from the federal government, state government or the college you are attending.
Grants are only available to undergraduate students working on their first bachelor's degree.
Federal grants are awarded to undergraduate students who apply with the FAFSA and are considered eligible based on their financial need.

National Science and Mathematics Access to Retain Talent Grant (SMART)
The State of Missouri offers grants to students who are Missouri Residents, and who are attending a college or university in the state. Additional information can be found at www.dhe.mo.gov.
UMKC occasionally has grant funds to award to students who file a FAFSA and demonstrate financial need. There is currently no Institutional Grant information for the 2009-2010 School Year.
